On February 27th, it was learned from COMAC that the domestically produced commercial aircraft ARJ21 and C919 kicked off their Southeast Asian demonstration flights. In the next two weeks, ARJ21 and C919 aircraft will conduct demonstration flights in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

According to the arrangement, the demonstration flight mainly verifies the adaptability of domestic commercial aircraft to Southeast Asian airports and routes, the adaptability of airport ground service equipment, the applicability of special flight procedures, and the economy of route operation, demonstrating the good performance of the aircraft and laying a foundation for future market development in Southeast Asia.

The ARJ21 and C919 aircraft participating in this demonstration flight are exactly the two planes that have just completed the Singapore Airshow flight performance. During the demonstration flight event, these two aircraft will also undergo static displays, and the manufacturer COMAC will conduct product promotion activities.

Since its commercial operation in June 2016, the ARJ21 aircraft has delivered a total of 127 units and safely transported over 11 million passengers. Among them, two ARJ21 aircraft operated by Indonesia's Lingya Airlines have opened four routes based in Jakarta, flying to five cities and safely carrying over 100000 passengers. The C919 aircraft successfully completed its first commercial flight on May 28, 2023, and has delivered 4 aircraft to its first customer, China Eastern Airlines. It has opened round-trip flights from Shanghai to Beijing and Shanghai to Chengdu, and has safely transported over 130000 passengers so far.

According to the latest market forecast by COMAC, the demand for passenger aircraft in the Asia Pacific market is expected to increase from 3314 to 9701 in the next 20 years, indicating a huge potential for market demand.
